Welder Fabricator
Location: Cambridge
Salary: 18.00 per hour
Hours: Monday - Thursday 07:30-16:15 | Friday 07:30-15:00

Role Purpose
To fabricate, assemble, and weld metal components and structures to precise engineering specifications, delivering high-quality work that meets safety and project deadlines.
Responsibilities
* Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel (mainly light gauge 1-3mm).
* Carry out MIG welding as required.
* Support the move towards laser welding (training provided if needed).
* Fabricate and assemble sheet metal parts, frames, and structures from engineering drawings.
* Use fabrication machinery, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
* Carry out cutting, grinding, and finishing to high standards.
* Check and inspect work, ensuring accuracy and quality.
* Book work orders using the company's computerised system.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following H&S and quality standards.
* Work flexibly on a variety of projects typical of a subcontract environment.
Skills & Experience
* Strong TIG welding skills (stainless, mild steel, aluminium - light gauge).
* Basic MIG welding ability.
* Laser welding experience or interest in training.
* Skilled in fabrication, dressing, and finishing.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
* Confident using fabrication machinery and measuring tools.
* Organised, methodical, and able to work to deadlines.
* Team player with a proactive, flexible approach.
