Role Overview: MTC's vision is to develop a training capability that embeds adaptable knowledge, skills and behaviours that future proof UK manufacturing. Aligning technical content identified in MTC's core business to our apprenticeship and commercial (engineer upskilling) is at the core of our strategy. The Apprentice Trainer role is required to manage and develop a comprehensive and innovative teaching and learning experience in a variety of practical and theoretical skills within the current apprenticeship trailblazer standards. This role will require you to deliver high quality engineering training to satisfy Awarding Body requirements and Apprenticeship Standard Duties/KSBs. You will also develop softer skills embedded within apprenticeships, providing regular constructive feedback to learners and record the impact of their own learning on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Effective delivery of subjects which align with the knowledge and competencies of the individual
* Support the delivery at level 2, 3 and HNC; paying due regard to developing independent learners, and enabling apprentice progression towards successful completion of both the level 3 apprenticeship & HNC programmes
* Management of all physical learning resources and teaching spaces required to ensure the training and assessment of learners is achieved within the guided learning hours.
* Learning content creation and development of apprenticeship trailblazers’ schemes-of-work. Identifying and coordinating the integration of relevant existing training offers from industry partners into the apprenticeship scheme of work
* Monitoring of the learning environment. Ensuring learner workplace Health, Safety and welfare by working with the DSL
* Ensuring the progress of the whole caseload of Learners towards completing their apprenticeship in a timely manner. Supporting their individual needs and tailoring your approach to support them.
Person Specification
Essential Skills:
* High level of engineering knowledge, preferably gained from several years of industrial experience.
* Experience of best practice in the key competencies of the individual e.g. Installing and Maintaining Fluid Power / Mechatronic Systems.
* Evidence of knowledge in teaching methodologies.
* Industry related qualifications such as L3 Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or Degree.
* Level 2 Maths and English – Either GCSE Grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills.
Desirable Skills:
* Recognised Training/Teaching Qualification.
* CAVA or equivalent assessor qualifications.
* Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.

Successful applicant will be required to promptly complete training relating to safeguarding and prevent and is expected to undertake ongoing training in relation to children’s safety and wellbeing. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain our safeguarding culture and contribute to it by supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead and safeguarding team. The successful applicant will be required to adhere to our Code of Conduct and share our commitment to the welfare of children.
