Job Summary

The post holder will provide delegated, supervised work and duties assigned by a Registered Nurse /midwife as appropriate, ensuring that there is continual feedback to the Registered nurse about the patients condition.The post holder will contribute to the delivery of quality patient care to meet their physical, psychological and social needs maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.

To support the promotion of health and prevent ill-health in staff, patients and their relatives.

Promote and maintain a safe and pleasant environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Check the readiness for use of emergency/special equipment and ensure all equipment in use, is in good working order.

The post holder must keep up to date with all mandatory training requirements for the post.

Have knowledge and understanding of all relevant Trust policies, including the Major Incident Plan.

Have knowledge of and adhere to relevant parts of national legislation, including Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH Regulations, and Moving and Handling Regulations

Transport people and/or items safely and to time consistent with legislation, policies and procedures.

To report any faulty equipment in the trust to shift co-ordinators to ensure quick maintenance carried out.

The Trust are looking to increase its pool of experienced Bank Health Care Assistants who are flexible and wish to work on an ad hoc basis when required.

In return we offer on-line access to all available shifts via EOL (Employee Online), excellent rates of pay, recently reviewed and increased to £12.16p/h inclusive Core/Day shifts and career development opportunities for the right candidates including support with your Care Certificate.

We strive to provide a high standard of care to our patients and actively encourage independence where appropriate. You will work under the direction of a qualified nurse to assist patients with a wide range of daily activities.

We are looking for patient-focused, caring HCAs who have at least6 monthsprovenNHSexperience as a Health Care Assistant working in aGeneral/Acutehospital environment or 2 years proven experience working in a care home.

6 Months NHS General Hospital Experience as a Health Care Assistant

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Must pass basic numeracy and literacy tests as set out by the Trust
