Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated ESOL teacher to deliver effective teaching, learning, and assessment at a specific site for a College serving 14-19-year-olds. The role involves creating a safe and engaging environment for ESOL students with complex needs and behaviors, managing behavior, supporting vulnerable students, and driving performance in engagement, curriculum, quality of teaching, safety, achievement, and progression. The successful candidate will work with the Lead teacher to ensure the College consistently receives a good or outstanding OFSTED rating.
This role requires access to a car and a full driving licence.
Teaching and Learning Responsibilities
* Teach ESOL students from pre-entry to Level 2 and Functional Skills Entry level Maths.
* Create an inspiring learning environment that respects individual differences and promotes high achievement, success, and progression.
* Engage with parents regarding learner progress and foster supportive relationships with students.
* Plan lessons effectively, using diverse strategies and resources tailored to learners' needs.
* Develop and update schemes of work in line with curriculum and inspection requirements.
* Prepare and deliver lessons that are informed by current subject knowledge and reflect students' diverse needs.
* Monitor and evaluate learning activities, set clear objectives, and support learners in reflecting on their progress and setting targets.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide necessary management information.
* Manage classroom behavior to ensure safety and high standards of conduct, supporting overall pastoral care.
* Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to enhance the learning experience.
* Complete administrative tasks related to teaching, including exam entries and invigilation.
Qualifications
* A recognized teaching qualification is essential.
* A degree in a related subject and Level 5 Teaching Qualification are desirable.
Additional Information
Salary: £13,877.95 - £19,180.15 pro-rata per annum (based on £25,585 - £35,360 FTE)
Hours of work: Part-time, 22 hours per week (3 days)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only (41 weeks)
