We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our network of inclusive Liverpool primary schools, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional or behavioural challenges.
You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored support, helping children to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities as SEN Teaching Assistant Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with identified special educational needs.
Implement strategies and interventions from Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or EHCPs .
Support classroom learning, differentiation, and behaviour management.
Encourage independence, emotional regulation and positive relationships.
Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to review meetings.
Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and school policies at all times.
About You Essential:
Experience supporting children in a school or similar setting ideally as an SEN Teaching Assistant
An understanding of SEN and inclusion.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, empathetic and flexible approach.
GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Experience working with pupils with Autism, ADHD, speech and language or SEMH needs.
Training in specific interventions (e.g. Read Write Inc., Talk Boost, Precision Teaching).
First Aid or Team Teach certification.
