Due to continued growth and the retirement of a longstanding member of our team we are now looking to hire experienced butchers.
We are looking for an experienced Butcher to join our team, the requirements of this role can be summarised as follows:
* The main part of this role is carcass butchery -you will need to be able to bone, trim and prepare our products to a high standard whilst being mindful of wastage.
* You will be involved in meat cutting and processing to maintain stock levels for the shop as well as our busy catering division.
* You should have good knife skills and able to carry out all aspects of butchery.
* You will need to work closely with the shop manager and be able to work as part of a team.
* You will need to follow strict food hygiene practices.
* You will need to be able to use basic IT systems for point of sale and order processing – full training will be provided.
* We are looking for somebody that is punctual and responsible.
* You may need to help with loading and unloading deliveries during busy times.
* We would prefer you to have at least two years of butchery experience.
* Driving licence preferred but not essential.
We are a growing team and some of our employees have been with us for over 20 years – you will be working in a busy retail butchers shop in a town centre location.
We are able to offer a competitive remuneration package of between £15 and £20 per hour depending on experience but we are willing to negotiate on this to find the right person. We would prefer a full time candidate but we would still be willing to consider offering a part time position for the right person so please do get in touch.
