* Salary: £40,777 per annum (pro rata)
* Hours: 18.5 hours per week, flexible working options available

We are excited to add an additional trained nurse (Paediatric or Adult) who shares our values to our existing senior team. Our two Clinical Care Coordinators and Clinical Manager are passionate and skilled and lead highly trained Specialist Learning Support Assistants in supporting children and young people with Complex medical needs to access education in school or occasionally at home.

Your Role And Responsibilities

* You will use your skills and knowledge to train, monitor, and supervise the Specialist Learning Support Assistants assigned to you
* You will delegate the medical interventions required to meet the needs of the children and young people on your caseload to non – clinical staff
* You will work collaboratively with colleagues in education, health and social care, attending meetings, where necessary, to support the clinical needs of the child or young person
* You will demonstrate your passion by championing the voices and experiences of children, young people, and their families to guide service development and planning as part of the senior team
* You will work across various schools to support the team and maintain relationships with the school staff, with time each week to work from home or in the office.
* You will line manage a small team of SpLSAs across various school settings and be responsible for their professional development
* You will regularly assess the skills and competencies of the team in a variety of medical interventions in line with the service guidelines and assessment frameworks
* You will undertake relevant CYP school health care plans and risk assessments for CYP and staff in a variety of settings
* You will ensure staff adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to the service

You will need

* Our ideal candidate will have a Current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration
* A mentorship or teaching qualification
* Experience of working with people with complex medical needs who are reliant upon technology such as tracheostomy, gastrostomy feeding, jejunostomy feeding, non-invasive ventilation, oral suction, oxygen therapy
* Some experience of managing people or supervising

The team

* The team is part of the wider Community Health Services provided by Suffolk County Council with robust clinical governance in place
* The team is overseen by a Clinical Manager who is a trained children's nurse
* There are currently two Clinical Care Coordinators (one full time and one part time) who are children's trained nurses
* The team consists of 23 Specialist Learning Support Assistants who are matched to CYP and support them in a school setting or occasionally at home if they are too unwell to attend
* The care coordinators spend their time in schools with time each week to work from home or in the office
