Brief Description
Assist and support the Level Crossing Managers (LCM) withall aspects of level crossing risk management including but not limited to:data gathering and analysis, risk assessment preparation, asset inspection,stakeholder management, safety awareness and compliance.
About The Role (External)
Key Accountabilities:
Assist LCMs with pre and post site visit preparation, including but not limited to arranging joint site visit with stakeholders, corresponding with authorised users and documenting responses, interrogating local authority planning websites, environment websites, and internal systems (GeoRINM, DST), provide asset condition data including outstanding faults, deploy census cameras etc.
Undertake level crossing inspection, faulting and undertaking minor maintenance(including cameras, cleaning of signs, minor repairs and vegetation management around the approaches and access area of level crossings); accurately report all work completed/not completed and check that work not completed is faulted.
Support LCMs with analysing, documenting, and tracking trend changes from census camera footage. Raising significant changes, deliberate acts of misuse and visible trends in usage with the LCMs and support with any follow-up actions.
Assist LCMs with preparation of narrative risk assessments as required, including analysing census camera data, and chasing up information from stakeholders.Work with LCMs to prepare and deliver Safety Awareness events working closely with community safety managers, Train Operating Companies (TOCs) /Freight Operating Companies (FOCs) and British Transport Police (BTP) in the planning and delivery of events.
Assist LCMs in the preparation of and attendance at Road Rail Partnership Group meetings, taking minutes and actions as required.
Work with stakeholders on behalf of LCMs to manage outputs from meetings, progress fault rectification and updates to systems.
Support LCM team by tracking completed Fatality and Weighted Injuries (FWI) reduction activity and updates periodically by keeping the Benefit Report up to date.
Support LCMs team with compliance, including but not limited to maintaining incident database, monitoring trends and trigger points, preparation of joint long-term strategy documents, responses to planning applications, maintaining level crossing files etc.
Assist LCMs team with projects including signal renewals and timetable change.
Essential
Job Skills,Experience and Qualifications
Proven excellent written and verbal communication
Demonstrable excellent interpersonal skills
Proven analytical awareness and attention to detail
Successful experience in planning and organisation
Proven time management skills
Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need
Computer literate in basic IT packages
Desirable
Understanding of level crossings
Attained a Health & Safety qualification
Experience of working in a safety critical environment
