Overview
We are looking to recruit a Legal Assistant to join our Private Client department, based at our Chillingstone House office in Rayleigh.
The role is full-time and permanent. Previous experience within a Private Client department is essential.

Responsibilities
* To work under your own initiative with day-to-day conduct and administration of Wills and probate cases, including telephone and written correspondence with clients, beneficiaries, professional organisations and government agencies
* Preparation of attendance notes and letters with the supervision of the fee earning staff
* Drafting legal documents, including Wills and probate applications
* Managing your own caseload and diary maintenance, including setting and monitoring diary notes and the critical dates diary
* Dealing with the administration processes for monies either payable to or received from clients, suppliers and any other relevant organisations or individuals
Qualifications / Skills
* Logical and organised approach; proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel); strong attention to detail
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, stay calm under pressure, and excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation
* Reliability, self-motivation, and ability to use own initiative
* Experience in Private Client administration; probate experience preferred; paralegal background considered
* Experience using LEAP is beneficial but not essential
