Overview
Do you have the passion to make a difference to peoples lives following a neurological event? The Coventry Community Neuro and Stroke Rehab Services (CINSS) are looking for a highly motivated Physiotherapist to join their interdisciplinary team due to internal promotion. The service is a community‑based interdisciplinary therapy team that supports the timely discharge of patients from hospital with ongoing rehabilitation or neuro‑management needs following a new or worsening presentation of a neurological condition, both stroke and non‑stroke. The teams work collaboratively with acute services, rehab and community networks and third‑sector services to deliver a patient‑centred, goal‑focused approach to rehabilitation. Our team is an integral part of the stroke pathway, reaching into both stroke and in‑patient rehab settings, with the hope of offering rotations across the pathway in the future. This post will offer you the opportunity to consolidate and develop neurological and wider clinical skills, as well as be part of quality improvement projects and service developments, working closely with other Physiotherapists and the wider team. Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP. The Trust is committed to building an organisation that fully utilises the talents, skills, experience and different perspectives available in our diverse society. We want everyone to feel respected, valued, able to achieve their potential and receive the most appropriate and relevant care. We will create an environment where the equality and human rights principles of fairness, respect, equality, dignity and autonomy are promoted and are part of the organisations core values.
Responsibilities
* To be an integral part of the Community Integrated Neuro and Stroke Service.
* To provide evidence‑based specialist therapy assessments and appropriate therapy intervention to patients referred to the service.
* Follow defined stroke and neurological care pathways and other relevant rehabilitation pathways as directed by line management.

* To utilise specialist skill and knowledge to manage a neurological caseload.
* To have general knowledge of a variety of conditions including neurological, orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, care of the elderly, respiratory and falls and to understand the impact of multi‑pathological presentation.
* To utilise a comprehensive range of evidence‑based specialist assessments and treatment for patients in their own home or in a clinic environment.
* To assist in the quality and activity monitoring systems, supporting the evaluation of effectiveness of the service.
* To assist in the maintenance and development of the service.
An inclusive team approach and excellent communication skills are essential. You will be expected to work independently and effectively within the Community Stroke and Integrated Neuro Rehab Service to ensure safe and effective management of these patients in the community. You will be able to prioritise your workload and time effectively to support an integrated approach.
