Housing Solicitor
Permanent, full-time role 37.5 hours per week
Location: London
Hybrid working available, 3 days onsite per week
Salary: £57,500-£60,800k

Are you a passionate Housing Solicitor looking to make a difference in social housing law? We are looking for a passionate Housing Solicitor to join a dynamic in-house legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity to deal with all aspects of tenancy and leasehold management law including possession, disrepair, anti-social behaviour and service charge disputes. Your role will be pivotal in helping to shape the future of legal services provision within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a large and diverse litigation caseload including possession claims based on rent arrears, anti-social behaviour and other breaches, defending claims based on disrepair, leasehold issues including service charge disputes.
* Represent the organisation within court proceedings and to act as an advocate.
* Drafting all court claim forms, statement of case/defence, applications and written evidence.
* Negotiating settlement on contentious issues and agreeing damages, compensation and costs.
* Prepare training materials and deliver in-house legal training on issues of tenancy and leasehold management.
* Support and contribute to drafting the housing management policy.
What We Are Looking For
* A minimum of 3 years PQE in housing law with substantial experience acting on behalf of social landlords and tenants gained in private practice, local authority or an in-house registered provider legal team.
* Admission as a Solicitor in England & Wales or a Fellow of The Institute of Legal Executives (FILEX).
* In-depth knowledge of housing and leasehold legislation, litigation practises, and procedures.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to quality customer care.
