Role: EC&I Design Engineer
Location: Reading Area – Hybrid – 2-3 days on site per week
Duration: 12 months
Rate: £60.00 - £80.00 per hour – Umbrella
EC&I Design Engineer needed to join our client, an established aerospace & defence engineering consultancy operating in the wider Reading area.
Please note this role requires current & active DV Clearance.
What the role of the EC&I Design Engineer entails:
Some of the main duties of the EC&I Design Engineer will include:
* Deliver electrical / control and instrumentation designs that address defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard.
* Ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle, liaising with other discipline areas to ensure overall design intent is maintained.
* Ensure compliance with Company Assurance Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) and statutory requirements.
* Ensure application of standards is proportionate and that engineering best practice is adopted.
* Elevate areas of concern to the relevant Principal Engineer.
What experience you need to be the successful EC&I Design Engineer:
Qualifications
ONC / OND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
HNC / HND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
Skills: Working knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to electrical engineering.
Competent in standard office software, and engineering tools and applications.
Knowledge of legislation and standards associated with nuclear and / or high hazard facilities.
Experience: Producing control and instrumentation ddesigns as part of a multi-discipline design team.
Experience of working in a highly regulated environment (preferably nuclear and / or explosives).
