About the job Shape the Future of Event Safety at One of the UK’s Most Iconic Venues London Stadium is looking for a skilled and experienced Safety Officer to lead the safety and crowd management strategy across one of the UK’s most dynamic multi-use stadiums, located in the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The impact you’ll make In this key leadership role, you’ll be responsible for the safety, security and wellbeing of everyone attending or working at major events at London Stadium, from spectators and staff to players and performers. Working closely with event owners, emergency services, and key partners including West Ham United, you’ll oversee all aspects of event safety planning, documentation, compliance and operations. You’ll lead the coordination of event day safety, act as the appointed Safety Officer, and ensure all safety-related documentation, plans and procedures are fully up to date and compliant. You’ll also train and mentor Deputy Safety Officers, manage relationships with external stakeholders and emergency services, and take a key role in contingency planning and crisis management. This is a highly visible, hands-on role where your expertise will directly influence the safe and successful delivery of major sporting, music and cultural events. Your skills and experience You’ll bring significant experience in safety or crowd management within a stadium or live event setting, along with strong leadership and decision-making skills. Ideally, you’ll hold a Level 4 Crowd Safety Management qualification, along with NEBOSH or equivalent Health and Safety certification. You have a detailed understanding of crowd dynamics, movement modelling, and the psychology of audience behaviour. You’re comfortable representing an organisation at senior levels, including in Safety Advisory Groups and with emergency services, and you’re confident in producing reports, stadium management plans, risk assessments and debriefs. Whether managing large teams, coordinating safety operations, or responding in high-pressure situations, you stay calm, methodical and focused.
