Joiner / Multi-skilled tradesman Roles available: 2-3 Contract: Temporary on-going (potential of extending for the right candidate!) Location: Keele - Newcastle Under Lyme ST5 Pay Rate: from £20.00 per hour, paid weekly (pay rate dependant on experience) Hours: FULL TIME, Monday - Thursday 08:30-16:45, Friday - 08:30-16:30 Blue Arrow is working in partnership with a highly regarded and award winning further education provider, who have several openings for skilled Joiners. Our client is seeking multiple joiners to work on a project to perform repairs and replacements on fire doors, as well as assist with other general maintenance tasks across the site. This role involves contributing to the enhancement of the campus facilities and working alongside other tradespeople to ensure that all required work is efficiently completed to deadlines. Main duties and responsibilities * Carrying out a full range of repairs, maintenance, and planned improvement duties with the emphasis on multi skilled works across the University's estate. * Changing and fitting door hinges * intumescent strips * Adjusting gaps in doors to ensure sealed correctly incase of a fire. * Installing drop down seals * Replacing handles * Carpentry and joinery work * Locksmith Work * Changing door closers * Always Work within the relevant Health and Safety legislation and guidelines when carrying out work, including the preparation of work areas and the use of Personal Protective Equipment * Always ensure the safe use and storage of tools and equipment The ideal candidates: * Are hardworking, team players and not fazed by working outdoors * Have access to own tools * Able to communicate effectively and follow directions * Are punctual and reliable - turn up for work every day, on time throughout their assignment * Are physically able to carry out physical work * Adaptable to pick up a variety of tasks as instructed by management Requirements: * Safety boots & PPE * A woodwork machinery qualification according to PUWER * Substantial, appropriate post qualification experience * Experience in first and second fix joinery * Experience of bench machinery * Experience of reading construction drawings * Full experience of working as a Joiner. * Ability to work along when required * Participate in a 24/7 emergency "call out" service on a 52 week rota system, including fault finding, "making safe", and carrying out repairs as required Benefits of working with us * Dedicated consultant * Weekly pay * No paper timesheets (clock in and out via our app!) * Holiday accrual and pay * All day shifts offered * Monday to Friday shift patterns * Ongoing full time work minimum of 3 months starting can extend for the right person too * Immediate start dates * Christmas and New Year off If you are looking for your next full time ongoing position, that can offer an immediate start from next week - please click APPLY now and submit your application.
