An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to join our committed teams working in a community-based setting alongside adults with learning disabilities.
You must have experience of working with people who have a learning disability and the ability to promote independence within the user group. You should have an NVQ 3 in care or the commitment to work towards the lead adult care worker level 3 qualification and care certificate.
We work within the Wakefield district providing support to adults with learning and physical disabilities. We have several community bases across the district and as part of your role you will be expected to seek out new and exciting opportunities for our service users.
You should have a good understanding of person-centred approaches and what that means in practice for people with learning disabilities.
You should have a full driving license; the D1 entitlement is desirable or the commitment to complete it within six months of starting in the position, this will be funded by us.
The role will require you to drive local authority vehicles including minibuses. We would encourage previous applicants to apply.
