Behaviour Specialist – ASD Experience | Full-Time | Cwmbran | September Start

We’re seeking a dedicated, full-time Behaviour Specialist to join a nurturing and forward-thinking setting in Cwmbran, starting in September 2025.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Specialist, you will work closely with pupils who have ASD and related behavioural needs, helping them to engage in learning and achieve their full potential. You’ll develop tailored strategies, deliver targeted support, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, structured and positive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist 1:1 and small group behaviour support to pupils with ASD
Develop and implement individualised behaviour intervention plans (BIPs)
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
Monitor and track behavioural progress, adapting strategies as needed
Promote emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour
Support the wider school team with behaviour management strategies and training
About You:
We’re looking for someone with a proactive mindset, a calm and empathetic approach, and the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and staff. You’ll be resilient, patient, and committed to helping every child thrive.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience supporting children/young people with ASD
Strong understanding of behaviour management and intervention strategies
Experience in education, care, psychology, or special educational needs
Excellent communication, observation and record-keeping skills
Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications in SEN, psychology, behaviour or education
Experience working within a school or specialist provision
Team Teach, MAPA or similar training (not essential – training can be provided)
