Overview
Join to apply for the CT/MRI Radiographer role at NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group. The Royal Liverpool University Hospital has merged with Aintree University Hospital to form Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is expanding its radiography team. This is an exciting time to join a multi-faceted imaging department that has recently moved to a brand-new hospital with state-of-the-art equipment.
We offer a rotation through CT and MRI with a shift pattern that includes evenings, weekends and overnight CT duties. There is potential to enhance earnings through overtime.
Responsibilities
* Perform specialist clinical duties by undertaking complex specialised radiological examinations in CT and MRI and all aspects of patient care associated with these procedures.
* Perform imaging examinations to a consistently high technical and professional standard.
* Support Area Leads and take responsibility for the general department in their absence.
* Assist with and support development of Band 5 Radiographers, ensuring compliance with department protocols and procedures.
* Take part in QA, student assessment and audit/research.
* Post-process image data and ensure a high quality of diagnostic information is attained.
* Maintain accurate patient records and statutory radiation records reflecting the examinations performed.
* Ensure the safe administration of intravenous contrast using contrast injection pumps with patient safety implications.
* Adhere to the Code of Practice for Radiation Safety as defined in local rules and report any breaches to the Radiation Protection Supervisor.
Department and Equipment
Imaging department comprises four new Siemens CT scanners performing a diverse range of examinations (e.g., CT-guided procedures, cardiac scans, colonography). Onsite MRI equipment includes two 1.5T Siemens Sola scanners and a 3T Siemens Vida, with additional training and rotation on a 1.5T Siemens Sola located at Broadgreen hospital. The department covers a broad spectrum of imaging, including trauma, stroke, cardiac, pancreatic, vascular and renal transplant services.
Requirements
* MRI experience desirable for this post.
* Ability to perform imaging examinations to a high technical and professional standard.
* Willingness to work a rotation through CT and MRI with a shift pattern including evenings, weekends and overnight duties.
