Role: Spinal Scrub Theatre Practitioner
Location: The Wellington Hospital
Hours: Permanent, Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday-Saturday, 4 or 5 days a week, Occasional Saturdays

We are seeking an experienced Scrub Theatre Practitioner in Spinal Complex cases to join our Theatre department at The Wellington Hospital, rated “Good” by the CQC. Our theatres provide a vibrant, professional environment with advanced equipment and technology.
The Wellington Hospital offers top-tier care in neurosurgery, spinal surgery, cardiac care, orthopaedics, neurological rehabilitation, gynaecology, and cancer care. With 13 theatres across 3 buildings, you'll be part of a large, experienced team. We support career progression and offer development opportunities, including a Surgical First Assistant Course.
What You Will Do
1. Provide high-quality care during surgical procedures including Spinal/Neuro.
2. Organise theatre lists and set up theatres.
3. Prepare and maintain sterile fields, assist surgical teams, and ensure patient safety perioperatively.
4. Work collaboratively with team members, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
5. Ensure safety for patients and colleagues.
What You Will Bring
1. Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner qualification.
2. Current HCPC or NMC registration.
3. Experience in spinal scrub theatre in an operating theatre setting.
4. Experience with complex spinal cases such as ALIF, TLIF, XLIF, intradural lesions, craniotomies.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
