The Opportunity
Are you passionate about sparking curiosity in young learners? A vibrant and welcoming primary school in the heart of North Tyneside is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 1 team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in a supportive educational environment. While the initial contract covers the first term (Autumn 2026), the school is looking for a consistent pair of hands with the view to extending the role for the right candidate.
Your Role
As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you won’t just be "helping out"—you’ll be a vital part of the classroom ecosystem. Your daily routine will include:
* Classroom Synergy: Working closely with Class Teachers to prepare resources and manage daily learning activities.
* Targeted Interventions: Leading small group sessions in Phonics, Literacy, and Numeracy to bridge attainment gaps.
* 1:1 Support: Providing tailored assistance to individual pupils, including those with additional learning needs, to ensure no child is left behind.
* Creating Magic: Helping to maintain a stimulating, safe, and organized learning environment that inspires 5- to 7-year-olds.
What We’re Looking For
"We want someone who brings energy to the classroom and has a genuine 'can-do' attitude toward child development."
* Experience: Previous experience working within a school setting (KS1 experience is highly desirable).
* Qualifications: A relevant Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or equivalent).
* Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with both children and staff.
* Mindset: Patient, proactive, and resilient. You should be someone who can spot a child struggling and step in before they even have to ask.
