Catering Assistant Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant/Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our catering van, contributing to the preparation and serving of quality food. This position is ideal for an individual with prior experience in catering. Candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
This position will be 1/2 days a week plus sickness/holiday cover.
Candidate must meet criteria to obtain a Fife Council street traders licence.
Working hours are 7.30am - 2.30pm. Candidate must have own transport or be able to get to site for 7.30am start.
Duties
* Cooking a range of dishes.
* Undertaking checks on food hygiene standards.
* Ensure stock levels are well maintained.
* Maintaining a clean and orderly space, ensuring the cleaning rota is being followed and all checklists are being complied with.
* Ensuring all food and other items are stored properly & no cross contamination exists.
* Comply with sanitation & hygiene guidelines.
Experience
* Previous experience in a kitchen or catering van setting is preferred.
* Familiarity with food preparation techniques and cooking.
* Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
* Experience in meal preparation and serving will be beneficial.

Pay: £12.21-£13.75 per hour
