The Highway Delivery Manager is at the forefront of delivering essential day to day frontline services, from routine maintenance and construction of civil engineering projects to emergency response and winter operations.

The Opportunity
In the role of Highway Delivery Manager, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:
- Being a visible leader, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and high performance.
- Taking a lead on daily operations across frontline highway services, including reactive maintenance, cyclical work, as well as planning and delivering civil engineering and construction projects, including quoting, scheduling, resource planning, and client liaison.
- Motivating and supporting teams, ensuring high standards of safety, productivity, quality, and timely delivery.
- Managing performance and conduct, including attendance, appraisals, and personal development conversations.
- Leading recruitment campaigns and training, ensuring teams are skilled, accredited, and future-ready.
- Driving innovation and continuous improvement, sourcing new solutions and practices.
- Coordinating emergency and winter operations, including out-of-hours emergency response
- Supporting strategic functions, including contract management, procurement, and service continuity.
. The role requires the Highway Delivery Manager to be on out-of-hours winter operational standby duties, with other colleagues and occasional weekend/evening scheme delivery supervision, as and when required.

- New Roads and Streetworks Supervisor Qualification
- Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme or IOSH Managing Safety Course
- Winter Services Supervisors Certificate
- A detailed working knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
- Excellent writing, numeracy and IT skills
- A full UK Driving Licence
- Any Construction and Plant Tickets to operate machinery would be advantageous
