About the Role
We’re looking for an analytical and commercially minded Assistant Merchandiser to join our fast-growing London-based fashion start-up. With an expanding retail network and a rapidly scaling online presence, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, hands-on team driving growth across all channels. You’ll play a key role in range planning, in-season trading, and stock management, ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time to maximise sales and profitability. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to make a real impact as the business continues to grow.
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Review and re-forecast continuity lines on a regular basis, highlighting risks and opportunities
• Assist with range and option planning, and delivery phasing to meet sales plans
• Assist with cost and margin analysis
• Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly analysis and feedback on the range with the view to propose any necessary trading actions
• Provide quarterly competitor analysis including an RRP review
• Responsible for in season trading: Reporting, managing stock levels and intake for replen & seasonal stock at style / colour / store level.
• Oversee replenishment and initial allocations to drive sell through across all channels
• Help to manage retail inventory, suggesting and actioning weekly top ups
• Build a strong relationship with the store managers
• Train and help to manage an intern with their day to day tasks
• Store visits as required
• Assist with wholesale appointments and manage all of the steps in the ordering process ensuring they
receive their stock in time
• Any other ad hoc duties and analysis
Essential skills:
• Ideally some experience as an Assistant Merchandiser
• Pays close attention to detail, accuracy and is very analytical
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel required (v-lookups, pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.
• Knowledge of Zedonk is preferrable
• Strong at prioritising workload and with a flexible attitude to change in priorities
• Excellent communicate skills both written and verbal
• Enthusiastic, self-confident and self-motivated. Shows ambition to drive through initiatives and
change to achieve company targets.
• Able to handle multiple demands and competing priorities successfully
• Willing to adapt and take on new challenges and driven to continually improve.
