The Role
As HR Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting recruitment, compliance, and HR administration while also assisting with day-to-day operations. You'll be part of a collaborative team, ensuring we attract, support, and retain the very best staff for our homes.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising roles, scheduling interviews, and preparing offer documentation.
* Support safer recruitment checks (DBS, references, right-to-work, safeguarding declarations).
* Maintain GDPR-compliant employee records and HR systems.
* Help prepare contracts, induction packs, policies, and staff handbooks.
* Monitor staff probation reviews, appraisals, and mandatory training schedules.
* Provide HR and administrative support during inspections, audits, or Ofsted visits.
* Assist with contractor management — booking site visits, chasing quotes, and ensuring compliance documents are up to date.
* Contribute to reports, policies, and internal communications.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Experience in HR administration, recruitment, or office support role.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and safer recruitment practices (training provided if needed).
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with HR systems.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
* CIPD Level 3 (or working towards qualification).
* Experience in childcare, social care, or regulated care sectors.
* Understanding of Ofsted inspections and compliance requirements.
* Experience supporting contractor or facilities management.
