Subject Leader for Science – Medway

Contract: Full time, starting immediately
Salary: £168.80 - £232.57 per day + TLR
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Science department with energy, innovation, and strategic vision
* Drive improvements in teaching and learning across KS3–KS4
* Mentor and support a team of science teachers to deliver outstanding lessons
* Develop and implement a curriculum that’s engaging, inclusive, and academically rigorous
* Monitor student progress and use data to inform interventions and planning
* Champion science across the school and within the wider community
* Collaborate with SLT to align departmental goals with whole-school priorities
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Proven experience teaching science at secondary level
* Strong track record of raising attainment and leading initiatives
* Excellent subject knowledge in at least one science discipline
* Previous leadership experience (e.g. KS coordinator, second in department) desirable
* Passion for science education and a commitment to student success
* Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead a team with confidence
