What we need from you:
35 years management experience within R&D corporate tax or a senior tax role
CTA / ATT qualified (or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of UK R&D tax relief schemes, with authority to sign off reports and costings
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
Experience delivering R&D claims for SMEs and larger businesses, working with senior leaders
Track record of developing and mentoring junior team members
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics
Proactive approach to business development and regional growth
Able to produce technical and marketing content
Commercially astute
Full UK driving licence
What this role involves:
Lead, manage and develop members of the R&D team, supporting skills development and career progression
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and lead client meetings
Identify qualifying R&D projects and expenditure through technical and financial discussions
Oversee and review technical reports and financial assessments prepared by the team
Ensure R&D claims comply with UK tax legislation and HMRC guidance
Prepare and review claim calculations, working closely with internal and external tax teams
Project-manage R&D claims, liaising with clients, colleagues, and HMRC to meet deadlines and optimise outcomes
Contribute to resolving complex technical issues
Support the growth and promotion of the firms R&D tax offering, both internally and externally
Represent the firm at seminars, presentations, and networking events
Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and continue professional development
Salary: £67,200 per year.
Hours: Working Monday to Friday 9am 5pm.
