About the role:
1. £13.62 per hour
2. Monday to Friday
3. 36 hours a week
4. There is a possibility the successful candidate will be required to work at other campuses depending on the needs of the business.
5. Immediate start available
6. Shift patterns: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday - 07:45- 15:45, Tuesday - 07:45-15:45 or 14:00-22:00, Friday - 07:45-14:15 or 10:00-16:30
7. Duration: 3 months with extension possible
What you'll be doing:
8. Opening/closing premises, monitoring activity, operating security systems, responding to incidents, and ensuring a safe environment.
9. Replacing lighting, reporting defects in fire safety equipment, and assisting maintenance teams with minor repairs.
10. Overseeing cleanliness of facilities and grounds, including litter management, grass cutting, and clearing pathways of snow/ice.
11. Managing deliveries, prepare rooms for exams/events, maintain communal areas, and assist in inter-campus deliveries.
12. Recording maintenance and safety checks, report equipment defects, and monitor contractor access.
What you'll need for this role:
13. GCSE Maths & English (Grade C or above) or satisfactory performance in College in-house tests.
14. Minimum 6 months in an Caretaker / Estates-related role, with experience in Securing premises, Grounds maintenance and Area cleaning
15. Basic Health & Safety at Work Certificate (Level 1) or equivalent experience in PPE, COSHH, Lone Working, Manual Handling, Risk Assessments, and Hazard Awareness.
16. Must be able to respond to alarm notifications and reach the site within 20 minutes.
