Due to an increase demand resulting from changes to the National Cervical Screening a role for a band 5 staff nurse within NHS Fife’s Gynaecology Outpatients has arisen. This is a permanent post, initially 13.33hrs. The post holder will work collaboratively across NHS Fife to provide specialist nursing care for patients and will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will contribute to the continuous development of Gynaecology Services that deliver person centred, high quality care, in a safe and supportive environment. Queen Margaret Hospital is the only Colposcopy Unit within NHS Fife. The aim of the unit is to provide colposcopy investigation to the NHS Cervical Screening Programme (NHS CSP). The introduction of HPV screening in March 2020 saw an increase in colposcopy referrals from 538 in 2020 to 899 in 2021 You must be a NMC Registered Nurse, educated to degree level with post registration experience in Gynaecology. This post holder will be part of the NHS Fife Gynaecology Outpatient Service currently based within Queen Margaret Hospital (QMH) in Dunfermline. As a gynae nurse, the post holder will work to deliver specialist clinical care appropriate to the needs of the patient group and based on principles that are research based and which enhance the quality of patient care. With peer support from the wider multidisciplinary team the post holder will undertake clinics with consultants and nurse led services.
