Role Purpose As a Quality Inspector, you will play a hands-on role ensuring that products manufactured by Hochiki Europe, as well as materials received from suppliers, meet customer expectations. You will act quickly and effectively when non-conformities are identified, while ensuring that practices remain aligned with the latest quality system requirements and integrated management system standards. This role will mainly cover Apex House (Chatham) but occasionally cover Gillingham, with a set schedule developed for the successful candidate. Flexibility will also be required to cover holidays and sickness. Reporting Line You will report to the Senior Customer Quality Engineer. Key Responsibilities Carry out Goods in and Final Inspection activities using vendor ratings, sampling plans, and component specifications. Conduct product audits and testing. Support the management of non-conforming components with relevant stakeholders. Manage internal and external calibration for test and manufacturing equipment. Assist in processing customer returns and complaints. Inspect special processes (e.g., labelling, kitting, and assemblies). Create and maintain inspection specifications. Participate in First Article Inspections (FAI) for supplied materials and products. You should align with our Core Values and demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Qualifications Preferred: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience (or equivalent). Not essential — full training will be provided. Experience Minimum 2 years’ experience in inspection or manufacturing. Essential: Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Desirable: Experience in internal auditing. Knowledge & IT Skills Essential: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Desirable: Working knowledge of SAP and CAD/drawing packages.
