The role involves tenancy management within a social housing environment, working on meaningful projects, and collaborating with a supportive team. You’ll be responsible for supervising staff, using performance management techniques to drive success, and providing complex technical and legal advice to colleagues and customers.
Operating at a senior level, you'll create and maintain positive relationships while representing the department with professionalism and expertise. If you love working in a positive environment where your skills are valued, this could be the perfect role for you.

About you

You’re a passionate and motivated individual with in-depth experience in tenancy management and supervision within social housing. You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and can confidently engage with customers, colleagues, and external agencies. Your leadership skills enable you to motivate and develop a team, and your ability to analyse performance data ensures effective decision-making. You possess a strong knowledge of current housing legislation and tenancy sustainment principles and are a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing or have equivalent qualifications or experience.

You can manage workloads efficiently, working on your own initiative to meet deadlines and targets. Your keen understanding of equality issues allows you to identify and address discrimination in the workplace appropriately. You are flexible and able to attend meetings or respond to emergencies outside of normal office hours, including weekends. A full driving license with business insurance and access to your own car (or the ability to travel around Luton and surrounding areas) is essential.

This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English

Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare all unspent cautions and convictions; and also any adult cautions (simple or conditional), and spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020). A person’s criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to this post. Applicants will not be refused posts because of offences which are not relevant to, and do not place them at or make them a risk in, the role for which they are applying. However in the event of the employment being taken up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority.
