Commercial Project Manager
Client: Energy WindPower
Contract Length: 12 months
IR35: Outside IR35 (£37.00 – £40.00 per hour)
Location: Remote
Working Hours :37 hours per week
The Role
Energy Windpower client is currently seeking a Senior Commercial Project Manager to join its Onshore Service team. This role will act as a key commercial business partner to Operations management, supporting multiple onshore wind projects across a geographical hub typically 15–30 sites/windfarms.
You will own full commercial accountability for your hub, working closely with internal stakeholders and customers to drive performance, profitability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Full Profit and loss and balance sheet ownership for assigned projects/hub
* Monthly cost control, forecasting, and budget management with a focus on accuracy
* Identify, manage, and report commercial risks and opportunities
* Maintain and report risk registers and non‑conformance costs
* Monitor and analyse KPIs Availability, Corrective and service hours, Project spend and gross margins, Billings, receivables, and overdue management.
* Act as a trusted commercial partner to Operations, attending regular face‑to‑face meetings where required.
* Prepare and present monthly performance reports to senior management
* Resolve day‑to‑day commercial issues with a focus on profitability and customer satisfaction
* Support tender and sales phases, including contract drafting and T&Cs
* Ensure robust business modelling, forecasting (ETCs), and reporting controls.
Qualifications
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Proven experience in project-related commercial roles, energy or renewables sector.
* Demonstrable experience in: Project controlling, Risk and opportunity management, Currency management, IFRS-based accounting principles
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
* Strong IT capability, including: SAP and Microsoft Office suite (including Power BI)
