The Armed Forces Recruiting Service (AFRS) will see MOD, Serco and their consortium of partners providing a Tri-Service recruiting solution, which for the RN will commence on 1 Apr 27. AFRS will provide end to end support from candidate attraction to assessment to preparing to join Phase 1 training. The solution will utilise Service Personnel in high value candidate facing roles in the Command and Support Unit and in recruitment, selection, Under-Represented Groups, outreach and the national career centre. Unit & Position Role Deliver Armed Forces Recruitment to maximise optimal inflow of workforce to support delivery of Defence strategic and operational capabilities. Assessment Centre Lead, responsibility for all aspects of assessment of Other Rank (OR) candidates’ suitability for service with the Armed Forces. Responsibilities Manage the Assessment Centre administration, estate & Development Plan, ensuring H&S and welfare of all staff, contractors & candidates. Oversee verification and assurance process and participate in briefing sessions, assessment selection exercises and interviews of candidates. Maintain and monitor selection processes to support & inform assurance and continuous improvements. Act as member of recruitment strategy group forward planning candidate pipeline to meet tri-service demand. Ensure that all staff comply with policies and procedures to capture all required outputs within timelines. SME advisor on Officer assessment and selection pathway. Line Management and Reporting Officer responsibilities as directed. Share personal, lived experience of life in the Armed Forces to engage and inform candidates.
