Registered Manager – Shared Lives and Adult Day Opportunities Service

South Tyneside Council, Adult Social Care & Commissioning Directorate is looking for an enthusiastic, committed and innovative Registered Manager to lead and expand our CQC ‘Good’ rated Shared Lives Service and, our non-regulated PHAB Day Opportunity provision.
We are looking for a Registered Manager who is committed to ensuring people living with disabilities (learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, or mental health conditions) can be influential in their local communities through citizenship, employment, enterprise, and volunteering opportunities.
We are looking to recruit a candidate who can develop and expand the services, who has a positive and value based approach, advocating a strengths-based approach to care and, promoting choice, value and individuality to people receiving the services and carers.
You will have experience in the delivery of social care services, bringing knowledge and expertise in the field of Shared Lives and / or managing services supporting people with learning disabilities, complex needs or mental health conditions.
You will have a confident approach to building trusted relationships with people at all levels, leading teams of people with a strong focus on the abilities of the person and not their disabilities, recognising the importance of enabling people to obtain their maximum potential and achieve the same life outcomes as those of people without disabilities.
As the Registered Manager, you will have experience of managing, supporting and developing teams. This will include quality monitoring and performance management of services, the co-ordination, planning and delivery of agreed objectives. Additionally, you will be responsible for the self-employed shared lives carers, who are members of the Shared Lives service.
You will have experience of working collaboratively with others in an inclusive and informative way, building and developing constructive relationships with external professionals, care commissioners and social work teams. You will believe in co-production and look constantly for ways to involve people, their families and other key stakeholders in our service provision.
The role requires you to have excellent time management skills, be able to respond to deadlines, have good understanding of report writing and background knowledge of Care Quality Commission to enable STC Adult Social Care & Commissioning directorate to meet its statutory requirements.
It is essential that you are passionate about delivering services in line with South Tyneside Council PROUD values and have an understanding of policies, procedures and quality monitoring of regulated services to ensure the services continue to be compliant and well led.
