Summary
Join Freedom Networks as an HV Fitter and play a key part in upgrading and replacing substation assets across the North West. You’ll work hands‑on with plant, equipment and cabling to deliver safe, high‑quality installations for our DNO customers — and help keep the region’s power network reliable and future‑ready.
Key Deliverables
* Install and replace substation plant and equipment, including multicores, earthing cables, containment, cabling and small wiring.
* Carry out core electrical fitter duties, including:
o Independent access to substations with live exposed conductors
o Receiving permits to work
o Supervising working parties
* Maintain high standards of safety, workmanship and compliance.
* Look after company tools and equipment, ensuring PAT/calibration requirements are met.
* Promote best practice and contribute ideas for improvement and innovation.
What we’re looking for
* At least 2 years’ hands‑on experience using hand tools in a practical or craft environment.
* Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical systems.
* Site safety passport and/or experience working on CDM sites.
* Manual handling awareness.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Work in or around High Voltage substations desirable
