Are you a passionate and experienced Veterinary Nurse ready to lead a dedicated clinical team? We are seeking a dynamic Head Veterinary Nurse to take the next step in their career and join this welcoming and progressive practice.
Located in the heart of Lancashire, this is a busy, well-established small animal practice with a loyal client base. Equipped with modern facilities, it offers a fantastic environment for a Head Nurse looking to lead a passionate, close-knit team.

About the Role:
As Head Veterinary Nurse, you’ll play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the practice, working closely with veterinary surgeons and practice leadership team to deliver exceptional patient care. You will lead and inspire a team of nurses and support staff, ensuring high clinical standards are maintained and promoting best practice in all areas of nursing.
The team consists of 8 Vets, 10 nurses along with 4 CCA’s and 1 VCA.
The position is full-time working 40hrs a week and only 1 in 6 weeks weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, support, and develop the nursing team
* Organise rotas and maintain clinical governance
* Ensure the smooth daily running of the practice
* Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
* Deliver outstanding patient and client care
* Take part in nurse led clinics and schedule 3 activities
* Train student nurses and support their progression
About You:
* RVN qualification with a minimum of 2 years post-registration experience
* Proven leadership qualities or prior experience in a senior nurse role
* Excellent clinical and communication skills
* A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
* Passionate about animal care and personal development
