Job Overview Seeking a consultant psychiatrist qualified in old age psychiatry for a full time, permanent position with a psychiatry department in a 360 bed secondary care hospital. This department provides services in general adult, old age ad child and adolescent psychiatry to in patients and out patients within the local community. There are additional services in liaison and addictions psychiatry. Position Highlights Teaching Hospital affiliated with 2 medical schools and involved in medical student teaching University city in the north island of New Zealand Excellent CME facilities Full support from junior medical staff Clinical and educational duties 40 hour week plus on call duties Professional Requirements FRANZCP or equivalent specialist qualification Full registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and eligibility for vocational registration Experience in old age psychiatry Remuneration Competitive remuneration package based upon level of experience and qualifications comprising basic salary and allowances NZD 200,000 - 350,000 PA Refund of medical practice expenses Superannuation 6% 6 weeks annual leave Access to a thorough continuing medical education programme opportunities to participate in research projects, pursue subspecialist fields of interest and become involved with medical student and junior medical officer postgraduate education.
