About the Role
Facilities Management are looking to appoint Auxiliary Operatives (Relief Caretakers) to work throughout the Borough including Middleton, Heywood, Rochdale & Littleborough covering sites as required in schools, sure starts, libraries and other buildings where required. The candidate will be expected to travel throughout the Borough.
Your working week is 37 hours per week to be worked Monday to Friday and hours will vary between 6am-9.30pm on a split shift basis. This is a 52 week contract and holidays can be taken throughout the year subject to approval. Please note hours maybe subject to change dependent on the needs of the service. Overtime may be required time to time and the appropriate rate will be paid
The successful candidate will be:
Responsible for maintaining an excellent standard of cleanliness of designated areas in the building and duties will include toilets and associated facilities against an agreed cleaning specification and good attention to detail.
* Good handy person skills
* Ability to work to tight timescales is essential and a flexible approach
* Be able to work independently using initiative and as part of a team
* Able to communicate clearly with and relate positively to all members of staff
* Knowledge of Health & Safety at work
* Ability to recognise the importance of ensuring a secure and safe environment

Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS including a barred list check child workforce.
