SEND Class Teacher – Specialist Schools | Havering & Thurrock

Protocol Education is currently recruiting SEND Teachers for a range of specialist provisions and SEND schools across Havering and Thurrock. Our partner schools support children and young people with a variety of additional needs, including ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD and complex learning difficulties, and are looking for passionate teachers who can provide engaging, nurturing and inclusive education.

As a SEND Class Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons tailored to students’ individual needs
Supporting pupils with a range of SEND, including communication, behavioural and emotional needs
Creating a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment
Using effective strategies to promote engagement, emotional regulation and independence
Working collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, teaching assistants and parents/carers
Monitoring progress and contributing towards EHCP targets and reviews
Encouraging confidence, resilience and positive outcomes for all learners
Maintaining high expectations while adapting learning to meet individual abilities
To be considered for these opportunities, you should have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
Previous experience working within SEND, SEMH or specialist provisions
A good understanding of differentiated learning and inclusive teaching practices
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
A compassionate, patient and adaptable approach to teaching
An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
A genuine commitment to supporting children and young people with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
