York Road Group Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly, forward‑thinking team for a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity cover, starting May 2026.

Main duties of the job
* Patient consultations – diagnose and treat a variety of acute and chronic conditions during face‑to‑face and telephone encounters
* Provide medical advice, prescribe treatments and refer patients when necessary
* Offer health‑promotion advice on lifestyle changes, vaccinations and screenings
* Handle on‑the‑day urgent cases and manage emergency situations
* Maintain accurate, confidential medical records in line with practice and NHS standards
* Review and act on test results, hospital letters and patient correspondence
* Coordinate referrals to secondary care, allied health professionals or social‑care teams
* Manage medication reviews and approve repeat prescriptions
* Attend clinical and MDT team meetings to discuss cases and improve patient outcomes
* Contribute to audits, QI and comply with QOF/IIF targets
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice, inclusion on the NHS Medical Performers list, MRCGP or equivalent qualification
Experience
* Experience of working in a salaried GP role or similar primary care environment; evidence of working with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to service improvements; experience of working in a team environment
* Experience in managing a specialist area or undertaking extended roles (e.g. minor surgery, family planning, mental health); understanding of local healthcare structures and primary care networks
