Rotational Pharmacy Technician – Frailty Unit (SP) role at NHS Borders
About the role
Band 4 £30353 – £33016 per annum pro rata (0.86 WTE, 31.82 hrs).
Key responsibilities
* Dispensary services – support safe and efficient supply of medicines, patient counselling, and stock management.
* Aseptic services – assist in preparation of sterile products including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition in a cleanroom environment.
* Clinical rotations – medical wards, surgical wards, frailty services, and medicine of the elderly. Work closely with pharmacists and the wider multidisciplinary team to support medicines optimisation and patient care.
Qualifications
* Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Confidence using IT systems and managing data.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
Previous hospital experience is desirable but not essential; full training and support will be provided.
