About The Role
We are seeking a solicitor with NQ to 5 years PQE to join our civil actions against the police team. The role involves managing your own caseload related to unlawful arrest, false imprisonment, human rights breaches, malicious prosecution, misfeasance in public office, and judicial reviews. A strong litigation background is essential, as the work involves multi-track cases and civil jury trials.
Responsibilities
* Managing a caseload of actions against the police from start to finish
* Conducting legal research and advising clients
* Drafting legal documents such as pleadings and witness statements
* Negotiating settlements and representing clients in court
* Working in a target-driven, fast-paced environment
* Collaborating with colleagues for case success
* Staying updated on relevant laws and regulations
Person Specification
* Practicing solicitor with at least 3 years of Part 7 litigation experience
* Exceptional client care and quality control skills
* Knowledge of CPR and pre-action disclosure procedures
* Experience in multi-track work and cases to trial preferred
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Proficiency with case management systems like Proclaim
* Excellent IT skills
* Re-training opportunities available for solicitors with 2+ years civil litigation experience
Salary & Hours
* Up to £45,000 basic salary
* Standard hours: 8:30am-5:30pm Mon-Thu, 8:30am-5pm Fri
