Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our dynamic Quality Department within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to progress their career to management level with a forward-thinking, safety-focused manufacturing organisation.

As a Quality Engineer you will provide Quality Engineering support to the EMEIA business units ensuring the business complies with required quality standards, accreditations, and procedures in support of meeting and exceeding customer expectations and the business achieving OTIF commitments and AOP objectives. Proactively work with operational teams to drive continuous improvement activities in product quality, process compliance, performance and quality-focussed behaviour.

Responsibilities

* Work collaboratively with operational teams to drive continuous quality performance improvement and provide guidance, advice, and support on quality issues.
* Provide Quality Engineering support in product bid formulation, product realisation processes and new process development activities.
* Support and approve non-conformance activities and produce detailed non-conformance reports.
* Support Qualification Plans to customer and internal specifications.
* Lead the development of quality documentation and records to meet the requirements of the Business Management systems (BMS) and product.
* Actively manage and continually improve the BMS.
* Support the continual development of effective and appropriate quality management frameworks, systems, and procedures.
* To provide support during customer source inspection/audits and audit body surveillance audits.
* Act as the quality interface for selected customers, keeping track of customer specific quality requirements and assuring conformance.
* Perform internal system audits as required e.g. AS9100 in line with audit schedules and ensure actions identified are addressed.
* Support operational teams to ensure accreditations are maintained, and that any non-conformances are addressed with actions completed and closed off.
* Assist the selection and maintenance of key suppliers and support resolution of quality issues with suppliers as required.
* Maintain metrics on quality system performance and perform analysis in support of improving performance. Provide reports as required.
* Proactively work with teams to facilitate continuous improvement activities in product quality, process compliance, performance, and quality-focussed behaviour to increase effectiveness and eliminate waste.
* Analyse data to facilitate process and product improvements.
* Generation of Quality documents in support of customer requirements- eg Quality plans, FAIR reports, Data packs etc.


Education / Qualifications

* Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant technical/ engineering discipline
* 5+ Years experience in a similar role


Knowledge and Experience

* Previous experience in a quality engineering role within relevant electronics manufacturing area e.g. defence, aerospace, space
* Strong understanding and working knowledge of quality management systems, testing and inspection techniques
* Working knowledge of accreditation processes e.g. ISO9001, AS9100
* Auditing experience
* Knowledge of effective quality management principles and approaches
* Logical, structured and analytical approach to problem solving, trouble shooting and root cause analysis
* Able to prioritise workload and manage competing deadlines
* Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
* Good report writing skills and ability to present complex information clearly and logically
* Organised and structured approach to work
* Good numerical, analytical and statistical skills
* Good communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
* Able to influence and persuade colleagues

* Teamwork
* Willingness to continue to learn and develop


Other Requirements

* SC cleared or ability to obtain
* Ability to travel – the post holder will be expected to undertake regular travel to UK sites in the performance of the role and to customers/suppliers as may be required
