Today, more than ever before, the delivery of high quality public services demands a keen business eye, and the ability to secure the very best deal on behalf of residents. This new role presents the ideal opportunity for you to invest your commercial expertise in a role where it matters more.
We’re looking for an individual who can operate across a range of service areas, covering traded services, property and regeneration. You’ll work with professional leads in these areas to identify and maximise commercial opportunities. This is likely to include a varied approach that includes: income generation; grant funding; and strategic and service partnerships – that will all contribute to enhancing our financial performance and capacity. You’ll encourage and support a more entrepreneurial culture in service planning, evaluating commercial opportunities while ensuring that risk is carefully managed.
We expect that you will already have a track record of working within a portfolio of commercial services, to enhance revenue growth and operational efficiencies, and that you can negotiate and influence in public and private sector settings. You should be experienced in procuring and managing high value contracts, and you should have an informed appreciation of the complexities of delivering commercial returns within a political environment.
