As an experienced Upholsterer at DFS, youll be responsible for producing high-quality upholstered furniture using a range of materials and techniques. From preparing frames and fitting springs to upholstering with fabric or leather, youll ensure every product meets our exacting standards. What you'll be doing Responsibilities: To be self motivated to produce high quality upholstered products in line with specifications Ensure all products produced are of the highest quality ready to go to our customers Prepare frames for upholstery including adding different foams and fibres Use a range of springs to ensure our products are prepared for upholstery In some instances, fill cushions using different fillings to complete the product Work with a large range of materials including fabrics and leathers to upholster our products If needed, cut various materials ready for upholstery Ensure tension and straining methods are used when positioning materials Use a range of trimmings and finishes including buttons, facings, piping and decorative studs Use compressed air equipment like staple guns as well as hand tools Creating different types of pleats including scroll arm, envelope and puckering Ensure you work as part of a team on piece work production, to ensure manufacturing runs smoothly Maintain your knowledge of all DFS products to ensure you know the specifications Ensure that the Companys Health and Safety Policies are applied and adhered to Ensure your workspace is tidy and not causing any obstruction for you or your colleagues On occasion and as required assist on other areas of manufacturing The role is for you if Capabilities Required: Experienced Upholsterer Ability to work in a high pressure and high volume environment High attention to detail and a key eye for detail Logical problem solver Organised Highly Motivated DFS Benefits Excellent salary Benefits Progression and Development opportunities to grow your skills A huge 30% colleague discount, plus 15% friends & family discount across our Group (DFS, Sofology, Dwell) Generous holiday allowance the time you need to rest and relax and the longer youre with us, the more time youll get!
