Job overview
You would typically handle all elements of a financing, from the term sheet stage through to closing and post-closing. Your responsibilities include drafting and negotiating term sheets, security documents, and facilities agreements to ensure a smooth transaction process. You will also develop and maintain client relationships, aiming to expand your own client network with support from partners and the wider team. Managing assigned projects and liaising closely with colleagues, clients, counterparties, and other advisers are also key parts of the role. You will be part of a friendly, committed team that values its work and strives to be a leader in the field.
Typical responsibilities include:
1. Drafting finance documents and working with the transaction team to ensure effective transaction management.
2. Negotiating with counterparts and leading calls.
3. Contributing to department know-how and developing precedent documents.
4. Supervising and developing junior team members in collaboration with partners.
Beyond strong technical skills, candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for business development and possess strong interpersonal skills due to significant client contact.
Essential skills and experience
We seek a real estate finance associate with 1-4 years of experience in our Global Loans team. The candidate must:
* Have experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating finance documentation, using both LMA precedents and bespoke agreements, in a private practice setting.
* Be proactive, a fast learner, and a team player capable of working effectively with colleagues at all levels.
* Have experience working on cross-border transactions.
* Be able to understand and respond effectively to client needs and aim to create a memorable client experience.
* Possess a motivational, "can-do" attitude.
* Adopt a commercial approach.
