Senior Occupational Therapist

We are recruiting a dynamic and credible Senior Occupational Therapist within our Therapy and discharge team at the QEQM site.
This exciting position offers the opportunity for the successful candidate to grow their clinical experience and leadership within this speciality and develop themselves in line with their personal development plan. The post holder will work within a team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, assistant practitioners and discharge managers as well as being part of the wider multidisciplinary team. The post holder will have the opportunity to provide therapy intervention in a fast paced environment managing complex discharge planning.
Main duties of the job
* Provide clinical expertise, advice and support to the multi-disciplinary team.
* Support the development of and maintain communication networks in order to provide a high quality and efficient service.
* Support and participate in the development of clinical standards and protocols, evidence-based practice, audit, research, clinical and non-clinical risk management in order to maintain the clinical governance of the service and Occupational Therapy delivery.
Qualifications and Training
* Professional Occupational Therapy (BSc, MSc, or equivalent)
* HCPC registration
* Member of CSP/RCOT
Clinical Skills and Experience
* Completion of professional preceptorship or equivalent clinical experience
* Demonstrate high quality clinical and evidence‑based practice
* Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience working in a fast paced setting
* Good problem‑solving skills
* Experience working within the emergency department
Governance
* Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS and primary care
* Demonstrable understanding of clinical governance relevant to the role
Personal and professional attributes
* Ability to work under pressure
* Ability to prioritise care delivery
* Good time management
* Adaptability to change
Other Requirements
* Adherence to the Trust's Vision and Values
* Ability to travel around East Kent and between Trust hospital sites
