Our team
Our Risk department provides us with a foolproof framework to make decisions that ensure the safety of our customers' and investors' money. They are constantly safeguarding our bank from various risks that could arise unexpectedly. As part of the Business Lending & Current Account IRB & Scorecards team, you will help secure the foundations of our business decisions by providing both quantitative and qualitative analysis across our model suite, supporting the acquisition of new business, risk-based account management, and managing capital across the bank's lending portfolios.
What you'll be doing
1. Managing multiple complex model development projects and analyses; delivering scoping, design, development, validation, and implementation of models in line with Bank standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
2. Taking ownership and responsibility for ensuring the performance of models is understood and identifying opportunities for model enhancements.
3. Adding value to discussions to ensure that current and emerging model risks are captured through the governance framework.
4. Developing and maintaining the Business Lending & Current Account IRB & Scorecards model landscape to ensure effective risk management and capital allocation.
5. Providing subject matter expertise on modelling, model use, and management across all bank projects.
6. Deputising for the Senior Data Science Manager at senior stakeholder and committee meetings.
7. Acting as a business banking modelling consultant for the team and related stakeholders.
We need you to have
1. Substantial experience in business banking modelling, including a detailed understanding of the business banking lifecycle and related regulations.
2. Significant experience in Banking and Risk Management, ideally within an IRB bank, including leading model development projects.
3. An exceptional understanding of credit risk scoring techniques, principles, and applications.
4. An analytical mindset and a logical approach to problem-solving, enabling understanding and resolution of complex issues.
5. Experience in environments that require strong commercial understanding and the interpretation of complex data to identify effective data and system capabilities.
6. Strong communication skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives, persuade, influence, and clearly communicate complex messages across all organizational levels.
7. A proven track record of leading project teams and successfully delivering model and scorecard development projects on time and to standard.
It's a bonus if you have but not essential
1. Detailed knowledge of IRB regulations (CRR, CRD IV, SS11/13), experience dealing with regulators, and facilitating annual attestations.
2. Knowledge of industry practices such as Stress Testing and Economic Capital.
3. Advanced skills in time management, people leadership, and resource utilization.
