Here at the Mid Yorkshire Trust, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the development of a Consultant Radiographer to become a key role within our General X-ray department within Radiology.
To act as an expert practitioner demonstrating advanced clinical competencies and a knowledge base beyond those associated with specialist radiographic roles.
To function as an autonomous practitioner taking responsibility and accountability for effective care delivery.
To lead in the establishment of standards and guidelines for best practice.
To participate/lead in clinical multidisciplinary team meetings.
To discuss own practice with peers and work effectively as part of the evolving radiology team.
To have a good working knowledge of the Radiology Information System.
To input patient details and reports on the computer system.
We require someone with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills who can continuously improve and help others to do so within our department.
This role can be adapted to allow for the transition from a trainee consultant role to a consultant radiographer role following a period of development and preceptorship if required.
The post-holder will possess a BSc in Radiography or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of Advanced Practitioner experience in image reporting. They will provide expert practice in image reporting and be competent in leading MDT discussions.
They will exercise a high degree of professional and personal autonomy, acting as a consultant practitioner with advanced clinical competence, decision-making, and a knowledge base beyond conventional roles, acting as an expert in their field.
The candidate must be self-motivated, have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to motivate a team of Advanced Practitioners, working collaboratively with Consultant Radiographers, Patient Service Managers, and Team Leaders.
