Role Overview
Based in Coventry, this is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to lead a team in delivering compliant and efficient utility designs. You’ll be responsible for managing the full design lifecycle, ensuring technical standards are met, and issuing construction packs post-acceptance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a design team to produce fit-for-purpose designs.
* Liaise with clients, incumbents, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Monitor team performance against productivity standards and drive continuous improvement.
* Identify and address design-related cost and programme impacts.
* Support the Design Manager in team development and motivation.
* Ensure adoption standards and technical compliance are met.
* Assess training and development needs within the team.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Engineering (essential).
* Strong knowledge of current legislation, technical standards, codes of practice, and engineering recommendations.
* Excellent verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable
* Master’s degree, CEng or IEng.
* Multi-utility design experience.
* BMT experience.
