Animal Care Tutor SEND Provision Location: Eckington base, with travel across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and South Yorkshire Hours: Full-time, 37. 5 hours per week (Monday to Friday), 52 weeks per year Salary: £34,216 £42,198 (dependent on experience) Contract: Permanent or SecondmentWe are recruiting on behalf of a specialist education provider for an experienced Animal Care Tutor to deliver engaging, hands-on sessions for learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team focused on vocational learning and the development of independence through land-based education. About the RoleThe successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality Animal Care sessions as part of a broader vocational and personal development curriculum. This includes maintaining high standards of animal welfare, supporting learners to achieve their goals, and helping to manage the daily operation of a working farm within the college. You ll be based primarily near Eckington, but will be required to travel to additional sites and work in community-based settings. Use of a personal vehicle is essential, with travel costs reimbursed. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging Animal Care lessons and farm-based learningSupport the delivery of a Farm to Fork curriculum, including showing animals at local eventsEnsure high standards of animal welfare and health & safety are upheldMaintain DEFRA and regulatory documentation and complianceDevelop and support farm-based activities including breeding, care routines, and site upkeepCollaborate with the Farm Manager and wider curriculum team to create a stimulating learning environmentTrack learner progress, maintain accurate records, and report on outcomesAct as a pastoral tutor, supporting learner wellbeing and developmentManage learner data and liaise professionally with families and carersLead and direct support staff in learning environmentsParticipate in quality assurance, staff training, and curriculum development Person SpecificationEssential: Relevant vocational qualification in Animal Care or a related fieldAt least 2 years experience teaching or delivering trainingExperience working with learners with SEND or additional needsStrong organisational and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a wider teamFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Desirable: A recognised teaching qualification (e. g. QTS, PGCE, Cert Ed, or FE equivalent)Assessor qualification (e. g.
