Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and urgent care facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
* Assist in the delivery of patient care by performing intake assessments and documenting vital signs.
* Provide medical administrative support, including managing electronic health records (EHR) systems.
* Administer medications as directed and assist with basic life support when necessary.
* Support patients in understanding their treatment plans and provide education on health management.
* Collaborate with healthcare teams in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including emergency medicine and urgent care.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
* Participate in the preparation of patients for examinations and procedures, including X-ray and OR experiences.
* Engage with patients across various demographics, including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) patients.
* Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medical-surgical practices to enhance patient care.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred; familiarity with hospital medicine or trauma centers is a plus.
* Proficient understanding of medical terminology and ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
* Knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and outpatient services is advantageous.
* Experience with vital signs monitoring and medication administration is essential.
* Ability to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
* Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent patient service and support team collaboration.
